The
members of Accent Chamber Music are four professional musicians who
have been performing together as a Quartet (flute, violin, viola and
cello) since 1995. They can be seen regularly performing in recital and for events
throughout the Houston area.
Highlights for the Quartet have been performing on a concert sponsored by the Vietnamese Cultural Association at the Stude Concert Hall, Rice University in January of 1995 and providing music for
luncheons and dinners featuring such keynote speakers as Elizabeth Dole, Barbara
Bush and former President Bill Clinton.
Amy Saxton Wiggs,
Flutist,
is a graduate of the Shepherd School of Music, Rice University.
She held the position of second flute with the New Orleans Symphony, now
known as the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, from 1990-1994.
Amy now free-lances and teaches in the Houston
area and is the founder and manager of
Accent Chamber Music.
Trung Le Trinh, Violinist, a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music, performs with the Houston Ballet Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra and free-lances throughout the Houston area.
Gayle Garcia Shepard, Violist,
is
a graduate of the Shepherd School of Music, Rice University.
She was formerly Assistant Principal violist with the Oklahoma Symphony
Orchestra and the Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in Alabama. She currently performs with the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra and is a
regular substitute violist with the Houston Symphony and the Houston Ballet
Orchestra.
Steven Wiggs, Cellist,
currently performs with the Houston Ballet Orchestra, the Houston Grand Opera
Orchestra and free-lances throughout the Houston area.
Steven was formerly a cellist with the Oklahoma Symphony and the
Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
In addition to the Quartet, the
members of Accent Chamber Music, with the addition of a harpist, are also available to perform in the following
ensembles:

Syrinx Trio: Flute, Harp & Cello
Classical Duos: Flute & Cello, Violin & Cello, Flute & Harp
We can add a trumpet for that "grand bridal fanfare" and we accompany vocalists, too!
